A) Why on earth are the vacuums not free? Come on, get with the times already. Many places are offering vacuums free of charge for its customers. Some places offer it free to non-paying customers in hopes of luring these people in. It's $1.25 for 4 measly minutes of subpar vacuuming at Northgate. That's pretty expensive for a service most places just gift to you. The vacuum I used had a gigantic slit in it and as such, was pretty poor at picking up the tiny crumbs in my car.
Amazing place, with even better service! Mark, the detailer is always happy to lend friendly advice and tips to keep your car/truck/boat looking brand new. No place in the area is as customer focused like this; and for a DIY carwash, that's saying a lot!
B) The automatic car wash I used wasn't great. It left some blue residue from the car wash on the trunk of my car. I definitely noticed some areas it seemed the car wash didn't touch and thus, were still dirty. The entire car wash experience seemed pretty basic and not worth $15 (for the premium wash). Simplicity is good in many situations; this was not one of them.
All good except pause on my machine did not worked.

3 stars for being merely average. Bay Breeze Car Wash is a MUCH better bargain for what Northgate gives you. Heck, even Mariners on 4th provided me better service and that place is awful. I'd much rather pick those places in the future for a car wash than Northgate. Shame too, because this place is so much closer to my home. Bad quality doesn't beat convenience though.
I will not be coming back here. Too much mediocrity here when St. Pete is full of good to excellent car washes. Most egregious complaints:
I took my truck through the automatic car wash, and paid for the premium wash, $12.00. It included a wheel scrub, which was the only reason I purchased that wash. But I learned my lesson the hard way, the $6 wash gets your vehicle as clean as the $12 wash. I always did the $6 wash but decided to “splurge” a little today and get the premium. The premium didn’t wash the dirt off my tires or around the gas tank nozzle. If I come back to this place for a car wash ever again, I’ll just stick to the $6 wash. (The pictures show dirt still left around my tires and gas door. It’s a little hard to see because of the shadows.)
