When I first attempted to get insurance, there were multiple weeks in which Janice claimed she emailed me documents, although I never received them. She would claim that they have problems with their email sometimes. Either she was lying about sending the emails, or they do in fact have trouble with their email system - in each case it is their responsibility to resolve the issue and take responsibility for it. Because of the delays, our initial policy was never completed after receiving our payment too late.

I feel fortunate to have been introduced to Melissa Ems and her team at Melissa Ems Insurance Agency. Melissa assisted my wife and I in seeking out the best possible options for multiple coverages in our life -- beginning with maximizing our coverage on our car insurance while lowering our premium. When speaking about more complex areas, Melissa was knowledgeable, explanatory, and provided strong recommendations that helped us to make informed decisions. I am grateful for Melissa's efforts. The policy included wind coverage for my office building downtown which I was previously told I could not get. I was so happy with the outcome on my business policy that I brought my home and auto policies to them and they worked their magic on both. I highly recommend everyone give these girls a call!

When speaking with Janice once again, she did NOT take responsibility for the mistakes and instead tried to blame me or Citizens as she had in the past. I urge you to not trust Janice and I urge you to not trust Melissa Ems insurance to actually work on your behalf.

I have had an ongoing poor experience with this insurance agency, especially with one of the agents, Janice Goodall. Shame on me for continuing to give her the benefit of the doubt after several mistakes and/or poor communication, but I was new to home insurance and trusted the expertise of an agent from a company with a 4.8 rating on google.

After going in to see Janice imploring her to fix this situation once we received the recision of policy notice for the second account, we were guaranteed that we were insured and given a COI that they printed off as proof. A day later we were even sent documents that made it seem like everything was finalized, but what they actually sent us was another binder for a new account without giving us a new slip in which to send in with a premium for this account. Thinking our issues had been resolved, we went for another 5 months under the assumption that we had home insurance. We did not. We only discovered this after we tried to make an insurance claim for some damage from Hurricane Irma.

As you can see below, Melissa and her colleagues continue to refuse responsibility for their mistakes. I hope that Janice retained copies of all of the emails she "sent" me, proving that she actually responded in a timely manner to my inquiries and with the paperwork I was supposed to receive. My lawyer will certainly appreciate seeing that timeline.

Then, when trying to get another policy, Janice erroneously gave me the policy number for the first failed policy. I sent in the premium for the second policy using the first policy number. Citizens excepted the check but didn't notice that it had the wrong number on it. The second policy was then canceled for non-payment.
