3 employees are working in this area; usual deli traffic for Friday @ 8pm. These staff members literally make my daughter wait until 8:30 to start preparing these sandwiches.
much cleaner and more expensive then competitors. deli ladys are always offering free samples. fruits and veggies are great and do have decent pricing during sales
Clean with a wide selection of products. The sushi is excellent! I do wish that they had xtra large french vanilla creamer. All I've ever seen there is the normal size. My ratting would be 4 stars if they carried that!
To top it all off they prepared 3 out of 5 sandwiches incorrectly.
Although the Publix at Gateway is less than half a mile from my home, the Publix on 4th St. No. & 38th Ave. No. is worth the further drive. The bakery is larger & has more selections. The deli is larger, has a fresh salad bar & extensive hot food selections made by a chef. The produce department is twice the size & stocks items that Gateway does not carry. The seafood department similarly is twice the size & has a live lobster tank. What drives me absolutely crazy with Gateway is Publix will advertise say stuffed clams, stuffed scallops & crab cakes, you go to Gateway day after day & the excuse is "we're out". When they do happen to have one or two, they are prepackaged & tell you a truck will be in a day or two with more. You go to 4th St. & they have these individually in the seafood case & can fulfill how many you desire to purchase. Same with other products in their ads. Recently they had a limited item of shrimp scampi in a bag. Pasta, shrimp, and spices in a bag ready to go in your oven at a decent price. For the entire week of the ad, Gateway's excuse was they only send us so many; we only get a few & they're gone first thing in the morning. Yet 4th St. had as many as you wanted for purchase all hours of the day. Being a disabled individual who has difficulty walking & pain from doing so & having to go home & take my precious few prescribed painkillers as payment for going out, Gateway's excuses are repetitous, old news, & I'm over it & their location. I'm done going back five times for an item only to end up with a raincheck that in the long run is usually useless. I can go to 4th St, get it the first time & not cause myself a lot of physical pain. You stand at the back end of the 4th St. store & it dawns on you how large the 4th St. store truly is. They stock significantly more items & in greater quantity. The 4th St. store is across the street from a similarly large Publix at Northeast Shopping Center. Which leads to question who's screw up was the planning of the Gateway store? This was new construction specifically for Publix when the old Gateway Mall was torn down & their old location was rehabbed into an Office Depot/PetsMart/Tuesday Morning. There has been no new housing construction near Gateway that would explain an influx of new shoppers, like all the new housing near the 4th St. store & why they can support 2 Publix's across the street from each other. The 4th St. Publix has everything, especially items advertised. You don't need to return five times during the week hoping today's the day you might get an advertised item. Five stars to 4th St. Publix & rasberries (not the fruit, but psssssbbbttt) to Gateway Publix.
8:35pm they state they do not have the mojo park available for the sub order.
Our favorite Publix in the area. We shop here regularly and enjoy the pleasant modern environment, good foods, attentive service and of course BOGOs. If you prefer the older style of Publix, the store across 4th Street is an excellent alternative. We call these two neighboring stores our parallel universe Publixes.
Arrival approx 7:45pm - checkout 8:46
I"m sure that pork could have cooked during this duration of time.
Horrible customer service. Very disappointed in this locations deli dept. I ordered subs online @ 7pm. Default pick up time was 8:30pm. I sent my daughter (18) and her boyfriend (19) to pick up this order of 5 subs. They arrive approx 7:45pm. The kids make it aware they are there to pick up an online order.
